The Mets placed Michael Conforto on the 10-day IL with right hamstring tightness, the team announced on Thursday.
The move effectively ends the 27-year-old’s regular season, as he would not be eligible to return until Oct. 4 at the earliest.
Conforto will end the season with a .322/.412/.515 slash line (all of which are career-highs) along with nine home runs and 31 RBIs.
The outfielder will enter his final year of arbitration eligibility this offseason and could become a free agent following the 2021 season.
Luis Guillorme was recalled from the Alternate Side to replace Conforto on the active roster.
