With a host of Mets dealing with either nagging injuries or longer-term absences, manager Luis Rojas provided updates on J.D. Davis, Brandon Nimmo, Jeff McNeil and Seth Lugo.

On Davis

Rojas said Friday that Davis was ‘close' to returning, but he won’t be activated for Saturday’s game. Instead, the infielder will head to a rehab assignment before returning to the Mets lineup.

On Nimmo

Nimmo began his rehab assignment in Syracuse on Thursday, but reaggravated his finger injury and did not play Friday. Rojas was unsure if Nimmo would be ready to go in Syracuse’s game Saturday.

On McNeil

Though McNeil is not in the lineup Saturday, Rojas said they are just trying to keep everybody fresh and the left-handed hitter would be available off the bench. He also said he didn’t think McNeil was running at 100 percent on Saturday

On Lugo

Rojas said that Lugo would go out on a rehab assignment with Syrcause ‘soon’ and that he plans to use the right-hander out of the bullpen when he returns, which should be later this month.
