The Mets have named Drew Toussaint as the team’s new director of amateur scouting, per SNY MLB Insider Andy Martino.

Toussaint has worked in the Mets organization in a variety of roles for the last 10 years, moving up from regional scout to the assistant director of amateur and international scouting (2021-22) and now as the director of amateur scouting.

Marc Tramuta, who most recently held the title of director of amateur scouting, is moving into a new role that will be a mix of amateur and international scouting.

The 40-year-old Toussaint is a former player who was drafted in the 10th round by the Los Angeles Dodgers out of high school in 2000 and then by the Angels in the 13th round of the 2004 draft out of Southern University and A&M College. He spent five seasons in the minors and also played two seasons professionally in Japan.
