The Mets open the 2021 season Thursday in Washington and SNY will provide fans with a special 60-minute Citi Pre-Game Live at 6:00 p.m. SNY’s coverage will continue with W.B. Mason Post-Game Live following the game.

SNY's Andy Martino will be responding to and breaking down answers to questions each day from readers. Here's the latest...

@afab514: Is Thor more of a priority to re-sign instead of Stroman? I would think so considering he is home grown and I feel has better stuff.

Simple answer to this one: Yes. The Mets have shown an interest in exploring an extension with Noah Syndergaard, and haven’t with Marcus Stroman.

I’d caution that showing an interest in extending a player is a long way from doing that, as we’re seeing now with Francisco Lindor.

Syndergaard’s value is hard to assess as he recovers from Tommy John surgery. For what it’s worth, word out of Port St. Lucie is that he looks great and is on track to possibly pitch for the Mets in May.
