@jd_isaacs: Concerns about the Mets offense? Or do you think they’ll kick it in gear?

I am on both Mets and Yankees zooms every day -- and watch both Mets and Yankees games, of course -- and have to say that perspective makes me feel surprised that Mets fans seem alarmed. And that the Mets themselves are getting questions about their struggling offense.

No, the Mets offense hasn’t yet been as dynamic as expected, but I think the stops and starts, cold weather and inability to hit on the field are legitimate explanations. If you want a team whose hitters are having problems, look across town. It’s been way, way worse over there. The Mets are fine. Like, not really having big problems.

One caveat: If Francisco Lindor doesn’t start barreling balls soon -- he has barrelled one this year so far and isn’t making hard contact -- that will be an increasing concern. He is having professional at-bats, taking his walks and not chasing. But he’s expected to regularly hit the ball with authority.

Overall, though? Don’t worry about the Mets and their offense.
