Mets' City Connect uniforms officially arriving during 2024 season

The Mets' City Connect uniforms are arriving during the 2024 MLB season -- officially.

The league announced on Tuesday that the Mets and eight other teams will be getting City Connect uniforms this season, which will debut in a staggered fashion between Opening Day and the All-Star break.

The Mets' new threads will be worn for the first time on Friday, April 26 at Citi Field against the St. Louis Cardinals, reports Paul Lukas of Uni Watch.

Per Uni Watch, the uniforms will be unveiled roughly a week before their on-field debut.

In addition to the Mets, the Cleveland Guardians, Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Minnesota Twins, Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, Tampa Bay Rays, and Toronto Blue Jays are getting City Connect uniforms this season.

Details regarding the design of the City Connect uniforms are not yet known.

Some teams that have unveiled City Connect uniforms have stayed true to their regular team colors. Others, like the Colorado Rockies (green City Connect uniforms) and Boston Red Sox (yellow and blue) have strayed far away from the norm.

The Mets made a small change to their black jersey and cap this offseason, removing the white drop shadow. It is not clear if that adjustment has anything to do with the upcoming City Connect uniforms.

Aside from the Yankees and Oakland Athletics -- who are in the middle of a potential move to Las Vegas -- every MLB team has gotten or announced a City Connect uniform since the program began in 2021.
