Mets will give away Gary, Keith and Ron bobbleheads this summer

It’s outta here!

The Mets this summer will give away a series of bobbleheads featuring SNY broadcasters Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling, the team announced on Thursday.

The bobbleheads will be handed out at Citi Field to the first 25,000 fans at each Mets game on Saturday, July 9 (Hernandez), Saturday, Aug. 13 (Darling) and Saturday, Sept. 17 (Cohen). The bobblehead pieces can be connected to create one large set.

Hernandez is already being honored on July 9, before the Mets take on the Marlins, to officially retire his No. 17 jersey.

Cohen, Hernandez, and Darling have been broadcasting Mets’ telecasts on SNY since the network’s inception in 2006. This upcoming season they will tie the record of Ralph Kiner, Bob Murphy and Lindsey Nelson with their 17th year together announcing Mets games.

Hernandez is a three-time Emmy Award winner for Best Sports Analyst in New York, taking home the award in 2009, 2012 and 2015. Cohen is entering his 34th season as a play-by-play announcer for the Mets. He first joined their broadcast team as a radio announcer for WFAN, where he called Mets games for 17 years. Darling, who was inducted into the Mets Hall of Fame last summer, is also a three-time recipient of the Emmy Award for Best Sports Analyst in the state. Darling and Hernandez were Mets teammates from 1983-1989, including the ‘86 championship team.
