Prior to Wednesday's 7:10 p.m. game against the Tampa Bay Rays at Citi Field, the Mets announced that they activated RHP Dellin Betances from the 10-day injured list. The Mets optioned RHP Corey Oswalt to their alternate site.
Betances landed on the injured list Aug. 30 with lat tightness. His last appearance came Aug. 29 in the Mets' 2-1 defeat to the Yankees, when he pitched the ninth inning and received the loss after recording one out.
In 13 appearances, Betances is 0-1 with a 6.10 ERA. Through his 10 1/3 innings pitched, he has allowed seven runs (all earned) on 10 hits with eight strikeouts to seven walks and two hit batters.
Oswalt is 0-0 with a 4.85 ERA in four appearances, including one start. Over his 13 innings of work, he has surrendered seven runs (all earned) on 14 hits (three home runs) while striking out 11, walking two and hitting one batter.
