Meek Mill stars in “Charm City Kings” produced by Will Smith, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s dad gets his own documentary and more of this week’s best in pop culture

“Charm City Kings” follows the story of a teen who is desperate to be part of a Baltimore dirt bike crew. Rapper Meek Mill plays the leader of the group, who becomes a mentor of sorts for the 14-year-old fan. The film is executive produced by power couple Will and Jada Pinkett Smith. “Charm City Kings” premieres Thursday, Oct. 8 on HBO Max. Lin-Manuel Miranda’s dad has a fanbase all his own. Luis Miranda is an advocate for Latinx representation in politics and has been a key figure in rebuilding his native Puerto Rico after Hurricanes Irma and Maria. His son describes him as relentless and says he based his Hamilton character on his father. “Siempre, Luis” premieres Tuesday, Oct. 6 on HBO.
