McKenzie pitches two scoreless innings in spring debut

Mar. 6—Triston McKenzie pitched two scoreless innings in the Guardians' 3-3 tie with Milwaukee on March 6 in the Cactus League.

McKenzie allowed one hit and struck out two in his first spring training appearance of the season.

Scott Barlow followed and walked two and struck out two in two-thirds of an inning.

Later in the game, Carlos Carrasco made his third appearance of 2024. He went 2 1/3 innings and gave up three runs (two earned), including a two-run home run. Carrasco has a 3.60 ERA over five innings in three appearances this spring.

Center fielder Tyler Freeman had two hits, including an RBI double. Chase DeLauter had an RBI single and a run scored.
