Mayor Lori Lightfoot, tennis legend Billie Jean King and U.S. women's hockey Olympic gold medalist Kendall Coyne Schofield were at city hall on Friday to promote the Magellan Corporation Women's Hockey Showcase.
The showcase is on Saturday, Oct. 19 and Sunday, Oct. 20, featuring Olympic hockey players from all over the world, including 2018 U.S. gold medal team members Schofield and Hilary Knight, Megan Bozek, Canadian gold medalist Marie-Philip Poulin and Finnish medalist Noora Raty.
The showcase also includes many other star players, such as gold medalists Cami Granato and Angela Ruggerio. On Friday, Oct. 18, the players will hold a youth hockey clinic.
King and Mayor Lightfoot showed their support of the event, which is the first time a women's professional hockey event has come to the city of Chicago. The Blackhawks are also supporting the showcase, thanks in large part to the event being at their practice arena.
Individual day passes for Saturday and Sunday of the showcase are available for $25 each. Passes to attend both days are available for $40 and can be purchased here.
