Matthew Berry: Browns will look to add explosive WR, spread offense out

As the NFL Scouting Combine has come to a close, NFL insiders are beginning to spill the beans on what they heard while in Indianapolis, Indiana. And for NBC Sports’ Matthew Berry, he had a nugget to drop about the Cleveland Browns and the type of offense they are shifting toward in 2023.

Cleveland’s offense is going to be really interesting next year. Look for the Browns to add a speed wide receiver this off-season to go with Amari Cooper. One source told me “They are really going to open up the offense. Go five wide. Pass a lot. This is going to be Deshaun Watson’s offense, not Nick Chubb’s. They will pass a lot more than folks expect.”

There is a reason we mock wide receivers Tyler Scott and Josh Downs to the Browns whenever we can in mock drafts. This is a very obvious move the Browns will make after falling around the bottom of the league in explosive plays through the air. This would be a welcome move for the Browns to make as they look to create more fireworks offensively.
