Matt LaFleur was frustrated with the run defense ... so were Packers fans on social media
Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur was clearly displeased with his run defense Sunday afternoon during the 25-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
Don't remember ever seeing Matt Lafleur as agitated as he was after today's game.
When asked about the poor run defense:
"They shredded us... Consistently."— Eli Berkovits (@BookOfEli_NFL) September 17, 2023
So was his fan base.
Just two weeks into the season, defensive coordinator Joe Barry was the most-common target for angry Packers fans that watched the Packers blow a 24-12 lead.
Fans don't seem to be giving the Packers a pass for losing the game without Aaron Jones and Christian Watson.
The Falcons had 211 yards rushing and rookie Bijan Robinson had 172 total yards.
And armchair coaches form Superior to Somers apparently noticed as Barry's run defense was compared to Wisconsin's favorite food ... but not cheddar.
#Packers Maybe someone should teach Joe Berry how to defend the run so he can pass it on to the players. I’m being sarcastic of course but it seems to be groundhogs day when it comes to the packers playing good defence.

Joe berry is wasting this defense.

No run game and defense looked like Swiss cheese. Joe Berry special

Joe berry is doing everything to lose this game

Of course, at least some fans logically pointed out that the Packers forgot to score in the final 15 minutes after going so well for three quarters.
Honestly, every time you guys blame Joe Berry on any Green Bay Packers loss, you seem to forget that we didn't score a single point in the fourth quarter. Also, we had three straight three and outs. This was a well-rounded loss.

Matt LaFleur has designed a beautiful offense today. Rookies everywhere, OL hurt, doesn't matter. Scheming open guys all day.

And then there was the long field goal try that suddenly turned into a punt.
A reminder that Matt LaFleur chose to punt on the opening drive instead of try a 56-yard field goal indoors with his rookie kicker with a cannon of a right leg.
