Matchup times, sites set for boys basketball regionals

Mar. 4—The next step is set on the Hoosier Hysteria ladder for Wabash Valley high school boys basketball sectional champion teams.

Northview, North Vermillion, Clay City, Sullivan and Parke Heritage all won sectional titles on Saturday and advance to the single-game regional round. Winners of those regional matchups will then advance to semistates. The Indiana High School Athletic Association announced the pairings last weekend.

Northview won the Class 3A Owen Valley Sectional title, beating Edgewood 60-53. Now, the Knights (14-11 overall for the season) play Danville (21-3) at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Lebanon Regional 14.

Sullivan won the Class 2A Paoli Sectional crown with a 60-50 win over South Knox. The Golden Arrows (21-5) play Brownstown Central (24-4) at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Washington Regional 24.

Parke Heritage captured the Class 2A Greencastle Sectional championship, defeating North Putnam 49-34. That sends the Wolves (22-5) into the Martinsville Regional 22, where they'll face Northeastern (18-7) at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Clay City won the Class A White River Valley Sectional, thanks to a 50-30 win over Bloomfield. Now, the Eels (21-5) play Bethesda Christian (20-7) at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Washington Regional 24.

North Vermillion took the Class A Fountain Central Sectional trophy, topping Rossville 52-35. The Falcons (15-10) play Fort Wayne Canterbury (15-9) at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Frankfort Regional 28.
