Masters betting: Scottie Scheffler is up 3 shots entering Sunday and -225 to win

Scottie Scheffler gave Cam Smith a slight opening on No. 18 late Saturday.

Scheffler hit his drive on the final hole of the third round into the trees on the left side of the fairway. After taking an unplayable lie, Scheffler was able to sail it over the green with his third shot and bogey the hole to finish at 9-under par with 18 holes to go and three shots ahead of Smith.

Scheffler is -225 to win the tournament at BetMGM after his day on Saturday. He entered Saturday with a five-shot lead and was at +110 to win. Despite his lead shrinking by two shots, Scheffler’s odds got considerably shorter.

Smith shot a 4-under 68 and closed three shots on Scheffler on Saturday. He could have been within two but bogeyed No. 16 after hitting his tee shot into the greenside bunker. Smith opened the Masters with a 68 but shot 74 on Friday as Scheffler put distance between himself and the field.

Scheffler and Smith are the only two players with a real chance of winning the golf tournament. Sungjae Im is the No. 3 favorite at 4-under and is at +1400. Shane Lowry is at 2-under and seven shots back. His odds are +5000.

It’s pretty clear that it’s a two-person tournament on Sunday, though the jockeying for the top three and top five could be fun to watch. And you have to be feeling really good if you got Scheffler at +1600 before the tournament or even snagged him at slightly better than even odds on Friday night.
