Massachusetts woman injured in snowmobile rollover in Gorham

Feb. 6—A Massachusetts woman was seriously injured in a rollover accident on a bridge approach on the Corridor 19 snowmobile trail Friday afternoon in Gorham, according to New Hampshire Fish and Game.

About 2:45 p.m., Theresa Ravesi, 67, of Maynard, an experienced rider, was attempting to cross a bridge over the Peabody River. Her machine came too close to the edge of the trail and a ski caught a bridge support cable and rode up it and the machine rolled onto her, Fish and Game said in a news release.

Her husband and a woman walking the trail came to Ravesi's aid, the news release said.

Gorham EMS and police also responded. Ravesi was taken by ambulance to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin with non-life-threatening injuries, Fish and Game said.

"Theresa Ravesi was found to be a very experienced snowmobiler who was riding a personally owned machine," the news release read. "It appears that a short moment of inattention was likely the primary contributing factor in this incident."
