The No. 19-ranked point guard in the class of 2022, Paul Lewis, committed to play basketball at Maryland. He announced his decision on Twitter on Sunday night.
"It's been my dream to play college basketball, and today I'm one step closer in making that dream a reality. With that being said, I'm proud to announce that I'll be committing to the University of Maryland," Lewis said in his announcement video. "Go Terps!"
Lewis, a four-star recruit and No. 108 recruit in the nation according to 247Sports, hails from the same high school as Melo Trimble from Bishop O'Connell. If he can produce the same kind of hype and production as Trimble did during his Terrapin career, Terps fans will be ecstatic.
With good size for the point guard position at 6-foot-3, Lewis has a terrific ability to get to the basket and make plays at the rim. Lewis also had offers from the likes of Georgetown, Old Dominion, James Madison, and Louisville.
