Count former Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis among those rooting for the Bengals to take down the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday.

Lewis, who went 0-7 in the playoffs while coaching 16 of those 31 years suffered under the Curse of Bo, linked up with Jay Morrison of The Athletic and said he’d love to see Mike Brown and Co. finally get a win:

“Any time I see Mike have success, it makes me smile. Any time you spend as much time as I did and talk to somebody every day for damn near 16 years, obviously, that’s somebody you’re very, very close to. I’ve spoken to him two or three times, and I’m really happy for the success they’ve had this season. So that would be great to see them win in the playoffs.”

Lewis specifically pointed out former coaches like Darrin Simmons and Rob Livingston, as well as players like Tyler Boyd, Joe Mixon and Trey Hopkins, too.

Currently the special advisor to the head coach at Arizona State, Lewis will presumably see his name come up during this offseason’s head-coaching cycle. The stability and modernization he brought to the Bengals for close to two decades enabled someone like Zac Taylor to come in and help the franchise take the proverbial next step.

Rest assured Lewis will be celebrating just like fans, should the Bengals emerge winners in a game most experts seem to think they will.
