Rain and snow Saturday at Martinsville Speedway means Martin Truex Jr. is starting Sunday’s Cup Series race on the pole.

Qualifying was scheduled to be held Saturday afternoon following the conclusion of the Camping World Truck Series race. But the race was called for precipitation shortly after it started and moved to Sunday. NASCAR then canceled qualifying, meaning the lineup for the Cup Series race is set by points.

The postponement of the Truck Series race means it will resume after the Cup Series race on Sunday. While the forecast for the day is good, snow accumulations around the speedway overnight could be a few inches or so and potentially cause transportation problems for those going to the race. If the Cup race ends up getting postponed on Sunday for whatever reason, both the Truck Series race and Cup race will be Monday.
