Marinating chicken?! Why IU basketball's Miller Kopp used those words for Jalen Hood-Schifino
What in the world was Miller Kopp talking about?
The Indiana Hoosiers wing had a strange explanation for Jalen Hood-Schifino's shooting slump after IU's win over Miami (Ohio).
"We've all been through it as players," Kopp said. "You put the work in and sometimes it doesn't show. It's like marinating chicken. You need to let it sit six, maybe eight hours, then you put it on the grill and it tastes a lot better like that. It's going to come."

Kopp revealed in an Instagram post that he had been tasked by Race Thompson to mention chicken in his news conference.
Hood-Schifino hit 5-of-12 from the field, including 2-of-4 3-pointers, on the way to 12 points in IU's win. He came into the game hitting just 28.6% from the field, but leading IU at 5.3 assists per game.
