Marcus Smart returns to Boston, Celtics dominate Grizzlies 131-91

While Marcus Smart likely would have preferred to get the win in his first return to TD Garden to face the Boston Celtics as a member of the Memphis Grizzlies, knowing his competitive nature. But even though the Griz lost in a 40-point blowout, it was as much of a love fest having the Flower Mound native back in the building.

The Celtics played a tribute video that had the Garden rapt and not at all dry-eyed, and rookie forward Jordan Walsh put up his first NBA points with an emphatic dunk in a game he got extended run due to the blowout nature of the game. All in all, it was the return Smart deserved, and his fans made that very clear.

NBC Sports Boston’s Chris Forsberg, Brian Scalabrine and Amina Smith took some time to talk about the momentous night for Boston fans and Smart.
