And yet he's still dropping dimes in New England, with his latest assist benefitting UMass Memorial Medical Center.

That's the latest recipient of Smart's philanthropic efforts to impact the lives of health care workers through his YounGameChanger (YGC) Foundation.
Smart will be picking up the lunch tab for staffers in UMass Memorial's pediatric intensive care unit and neonatal intensive care unit on Tuesday.
"This kind gesture is consistent with what we have heard about the generosity and humanity of Marcus Smart," said Lawrence Rhein, M.D., Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at UMass Memorial Medical Center. "We are fortunate to have athletes of this caliber who are willing to not only make a personal contribution, but through their efforts also shine a bright light on the work of our caregivers. On behalf of the pediatrics department I want to say thank you to Marcus for his kindness, and to wish him and the Celtics a safe and successful return to the basketball courts."
What Smart is doing at UMass Memorial, he has been doing throughout New England ever since the NBA season was postponed indefinitely on March 11.
Smart recently supplied 425 meals to the pediatric staff for a week at Boston Children's Hospital, Tufts Floating Children's Hospital and Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence.
Smart, who is a brand ambassador for Puma, also had slides and socks donated to the staff at Hasbro Children's Hospital.
And while the food items certainly have brightened the day for many, Smart has done his part to help some of the area's small businesses, too, such as partnering with Vitamin1 water which has donated their product as well as Everett-based delivery service Prepped Gainz.
