Maple Leafs deal F Fehr to Sharks

The Toronto Maple Leafs dealt veteran forward Eric Fehr to the San Jose Sharks for a future draft pick, the club announced Tuesday.

Toronto received a seventh-round pick in the 2020 draft in exchange for the 32-year-old Fehr.

Fehr was scoreless in four games with Toronto this season. He has spent the past three-plus months with the San Diego Gulls of the American Hockey League and had 28 points (17 goals, 11 assists) in 34 games.

Overall, Fehr has played in 566 career NHL games since breaking in with the Washington Capitals during the 2005-06 campaign. He has 103 career goals and 99 assists.

The 6-foot-4 Fehr played parts of nine seasons in two stints with the Capitals. He has also played for the Winnipeg Jets, Pittsburgh Penguins (where he won a Stanley Cup in 2016 over the Sharks) and the Maple Leafs. Fehr was originally picked in the first round (No. 18 overall) of the 2003 NHL draft.
