Manchester United transfer news: Scott McTominay extends contract at Old Trafford

Scott McTominay has signed a contract extension at Manchester United committing his future to Old Trafford until June 2023 with an option for a further year.

Recent speculation has linked the 22-year-old midfielder with a loan move but his long-term future remains at United.

The Scotland international has revealed his delight at signing new terms and his intention for the future.

“Manchester United has been my life since the age of five and playing for the club I’ve always supported is all I’ve ever wanted to do,” McTominay said.

“I’m still young and I’m learning all the time from the manager, his coaching staff and from the world-class players in the squad.

“I can’t wait to continue my progress at this great club.”

And caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has tipped McTominay for a bright future.

“Scott is a young midfielder and is constantly improving. He’s an intelligent player and wants to learn all the time.
