Manchester City 'reach agreement with wantaway Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez'
Runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City look to have clinched the signing of Arsenal’s contract rebel Alexis Sanchez.
According to Italian football writer Fabrizio Romano, City have reached an agreement for a free transfer for the 29-year-old Chilean – who was subject of a £60m bid from the same club just one year ago.
City are also offering Sanchez £13m a year in wages PLUS a £30m signing on fee.
However, if Arsenal are willing to sell their prized asset immediately, City are willing to spend an extra £20m to ensure the player joins this month.
City are awaiting a response from the Gunners – who claim they have heard nothing from the Etihad club.
Manchester City are 15 points clear at the top of the table but have been hit with an injury to Brazil striker Gabriel Jesus and want cover for the club’s record goalscorer Gabriel Jesus.

Sanchez will be eligible to play in both the Champions League and FA Cup as City challenge for the Quadruple.
Arsenal have been unwilling to sell him but recent reports of dressing-room unrest and an apparent lack of desire to celebrate goals with Sanchez mean manager Arsene Wenger has softened his stance – although it is believed he is holding out for £35m.
Sanchez’s four-year Arsenal contract runs out at the end of the season and he will be available for free at that time but City are happy to pay now for their No.1 target.
