Mets manager Buck Showalter touched on several topics when he met the media on Monday including Justin Verlander's 40th birthday, and how the Mets coaches can help the pitching staff adjust to the pitch clock this season. Showalter also spoke about what can and cannot be communicated when coaching players saying "sometimes you have to fail in order to understand what some guys are maybe telling you."
