Thousands of Lakers fans gathered outside the Staples Center in Los Angeles on October 11, following their team’s completion of a 4-2 Finals series win over the Miami Heat.
Fans in cars smoked their tires and performed donuts, while fireworks were set off, before police declared the assembly unlawful.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti had appealed to fans on Twitter to stay home and not gather at the Staples Center.
“Please remember it’s still not safe to gather in groups,” he said. “Let’s honor our city’s triumph by protecting others and making sure we don’t spread the virus.”
