Man in his 30s dies of COVID-19

McDONOUGH COUNTY — The McDonough County Health Department has reported the death of one man in his 30s from COVID-19. The latest death brings the county death toll by COVID-19 to 80.

The department also reported an outbreak of COVID-19 at Wesley Village Retirement Center, and an additional 19 new cases. The new cases bring the week's total reported cases to 88 so far.

According to the MCHD, "a death certificate that lists COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2 as a cause of death or a significant condition contributing to death is counted as a COVID-19 death in accordance with the Illinois Department of Health's (IDPH) Vital Records Criteria."
