Bloomington (Ill.) Central Catholic senior offensive center/long snapper recruitJoey Malinowski(6-foot-1, 245 pounds) has been traveling and attending college camps across the country this summer, yet Malinowski's first offer has come in from a very familiar school. Malinowski discusses adding his first offer and much more here.

"I just added my first offer from Illinois State," Malinowski said. "It's an amazing feeling to get my first offer from Illinois State especially since I live here. I've lived in this area my entire life and I've been hoping to land an offer from ISU the entire time. It's very exciting."

Malinowski, considered as one of the state's top long snappers was indeed a bit surprised to add an offer from the in-town Redbirds.

"I knew that Illinois State was interested and we've been staying in touch for a while now. I went to the linemen camp on Monday and I wanted to show the ISU coaches that I can do more than just long snap. I was hoping for an offer and once the ISU coaches pulled me aside and had me go up to Coach Spack's office I thought that maybe ISU would offer me a preferred walk-on spot. I just didn't think ISU would offer me a scholarship so that was definitely a big surprise."

Malinowski also recapped his summer camp travels so far.

"I camped at Eastern Michigan, Akron, North Central College satellite camp along with camping at Cincinnati, NIU, Ball State, Purdue, Wisconsin and Illinois State so far. All of the feedback from the college coaches at those camps has been really positive. I'm still planning to camp at Washington High School in July for the McKendree camp. I'm going to that camp more to just work on my offensive linemen skills. Outside of that camp, I'm done with college camps for the summer."

So when could Malinowski make his college decision?

"It could come pretty soon. I still need to sit down and talk it all over with my parents and try to look at everything one last time."

Joey Malinowski has a scholarship offer from Illinois State University.
