On Thursday, the Orlando Magic announced that the team has signed rookie Robert Franks to a second 10-day contract after initially joining the team on April 12.

Franks, who went undrafted out of Washington State in 2019, is averaging five points and 1.8 rebounds in four appearances with the Magic. He is coming off of his best performance with the team after recording seven points and three rebounds on Tuesday versus the Atlanta Hawks.

Prior to signing with Orlando, Franks spent the season in the NBA G League with the Lakeland Magic. He averaged 12.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 14 games with Lakeland, while he posted 16 points per game during the playoffs en route to the G League championship.

With the Magic in a clear rebuilding effort, the organization looks to be surveying the free-agent market to potentially find a player that can stick around as the season winds down. The team has prioritized development for its younger players with Franks among them.
