The former face of the Lakers got up and laughed as he exchanged a quick handshake with the current version. James barely broke stride, heading back to the never-ending work of winning. In this building, Bryant led five championship teams. While James has won titles, he's hunting for a banner to hang alongside Bryant's in Staples Center. That chase has seemed more and more realistic during the Lakers' 11-2 start, the latest of which came Sunday evening in an overpowering victory, 122-101 over the Atlanta Hawks (4-9).
