The Florida Panthers and six other Atlantic Division teams were happy to see the Ottawa Senators send star defenseman Erik Karlsson west to the San Jose Sharks on Thursday. The rebuilding Senators received center Chris Tierney and defenseman Dylan DeMelo, prospects forwards Rudolfs Balcers and Josh Norris, as well as a first-round draft pick (2019 or 2020) and a second-round pick in 2019. If the Sharks miss the playoffs in 2018-19, that first-rounder will be in 2019; otherwise, it's a 2020 first-round pick that will go to Ottawa. There are also two conditional picks involved in the trade: If the Sharks sign Karlsson to a contract extension, the Senators will receive San Jose's second-round pick
