It's a coin flip for the 49ers' first pick. General manager John Lynch said Thursday that rookie edge rusher Nick Bosa had a 50-50 chance of playing in the season opener at Tampa Bay on Sept. 8. Bosa sustained a severe ankle sprain in practice on Aug. 7. Bosa was observed walking slowly through the locker room Wednesday. “He's coming along really well,” Lynch said on KNBR. “I think, truly, (him playing in) Week 1, that's, I don't know, 50-50. But it's going to be touch and go as to whether he makes it.” Lynch said cornerback Jason Verrett, who also sustained a sprained ankle on Aug. 7, also had a 50-50 chance to be ready for the season opener.
