Marcus Adams is known as 'Specimen' for a reason — he is one of the biggest men in the AFL. But in a sign of the work he put in over the Christmas break, the monster key defender is now one of the best distance runners at the Lions. Emerging midfielder Jarrod Berry won his fourth straight 3km time trial on Saturday, but it was Adams who was next across the line at Nudgee College. Adams has been plagued by injuries since the Western Bulldogs plucked him out of the WAFL at 22 at the end of 2015. He played 11 games in his debut season – the most he has played in a season – and managed 16 more appearances before requesting a trade to Brisbane at the end of 2018.
