Memphis Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant was invited to do the honors of smashing a guitar prior to the Memphis 901 FC game on Saturday at AutoZone Park. Morant, selected by the Grizzlies with the second overall pick in Thursday's draft, came out from the dugout with the guitar in hand, and smashed it on the amplifier sitting on the ground. It took him two hits to fully destroy the guitar, but Morant made the tradition work: Morant certainly received a lot of love from the Grizzlies fans in attendance. The crowd even broke out into a “Ja Morant, he's one of our own!” chant prior to the pregame tradition. Memphis is making sure that the 19-year-old feels like a rock star.
