Jase Bowen had to decide between going to college or playing professionally and chose the latter. Bowen, a three-star wide receiver from Toledo Central Catholic High School in Ohio who signed with Michigan State's 2019 recruiting class, announced via Twitter on Wednesday night he signed a professional contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The outfielder/shortstop was selected by the organization in the 11th round (No. 334 overall) of the MLB draft on June 5. “Michigan State will always hold a special place in my heart, but today a childhood dream of mine came true,” Bowen wrote in a message on Twitter. “I officially signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates to begin my professional baseball career.
