The New York Jets made a splash with the addition of running back Le'Veon Bell in free agency. However, it appears running back Ty Montgomery has quickly started to establish himself as the clear-cut backup. Ty Montgomery signed with the Jets following a rocky 2018 campaign. According to Bryan Costello of the New York Post, he has made quite an impression through OTAs and mandatory minicamp: Montgomery has had a strong spring for the Jets. He has been the beneficiary of Le'Veon Bell staying away for much of the voluntary portion of the offseason program. Montgomery has gotten a ton of reps. He looks like a good fit in Adam Gase's offense because of his versatility as a runner and pass catcher.
