The veteran second baseman is rehabbing from a torn left hamstring he sustained while rounding first base on Aug. 4 against the Pirates. The Mets initially placed Cano on the 10-day injured list with a strained left hamstring. The 36-year-old will not require surgery to mend his hamstring, which leaves the door open for a possible return to the diamond this season.
