Shortly after the Twins' season wrapped up in early October, chief baseball officer Derek Falvey said first baseman C.J. Cron would be getting another opinion on the nagging sore right thumb that had limited him at the plate for much of the season. “There could be potential for a procedure to help alleviate some of the stuff he's been dealing with,” Falvey said at the time.
