Nuggets' Jamal Murray invited to play with Canadian national team this summer

Denver Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray has been invited to participate in training camp and exhibition play for Canada Basketball's senior national team this summer. Murray, a native of Kitchener, Ontario, said when the Nuggets played in Toronto in late March that he would be open to playing for Canada during the offseason. Denver forward Trey Lyles, who was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, was not on the list of invitees. Canada is aiming to qualify for the 2019 FIBA World Cup. Following training camp from June 20-21 in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada will play China in the Pacific Rim Basketball in Vancouver on June 22 and in Victoria on June 24.
