The court battle over naming rights at a new Franklin baseball park includes an unlikely player: former Chicago Cubs Manager Joe Maddon. Maddon, who led the Cubs to a World Series championship in 2016, is not a party to the lawsuits between Ballpark Commons developer Michael Zimmerman and Michael DeGrave, who operates Routine Baseball LLC. But Maddon's name has surfaced in court filings through a business relationship with a company that was operated by both Zimmerman and DeGrave. DeGrave's Routine Baseball, a Franklin-based baseball apparel company, sued Zimmerman and his companies in August. The lawsuit said Routine Baseball approved a nonbinding letter of intent to sign a naming rights contract
