FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (KMOX) - Former New York Mets third baseman David Wright knew he had some big shoes to fill when he was handed the Wanamaker trophy from St. Louis Cardinals legend, Ozzie Smith. This week at the PGA Championship at Bethpage Black in New York, Wright is the honorary ambassador, which is the same role Smith had for last year's tournament at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis. The trophy passing happened in Februray at the Mets spring training complex in Port St. Lucie, before a game against the Cardinals.
