The good news for the Mets: they can park McNeil at second base to get the best of both worlds. McNeil's All-Star bat will be in the lineup and Lagares receives the opportunity to extend his hot stretch. (The odd man out in that scenario is Joe Panik, who has also settled into a groove in New York.) If Lagares starts cooling off, McNeil can shift back into right field, Michael Conforto will move over to center, and Panik can return to second.
