Are the Cubs near a decision in their search for a new manager? MLB.com reported Sunday that Astros bench coach Joe Espada went to Chicago Sunday to interview for the open position. It's his second interview with the team, following a meeting last Monday, making him the only candidate to interview twice so far. Espada has emerged as one of two favorites for the job, along with former Cubs catcher David Ross, who has already interviewed with the team. NBC Sports Chicago reported last week that the Cubs came away "exceptionally impressed" by Espada after the first interview. Others to interview thus far are former Yankees manager Joe Girardi, former Phillies skipper Gabe Kapler and internal candidates
