On July 27, undrafted rookie defensive tackle Anthony Rush was waived by the Philadelphia Eagles. “On his way to another camp,” Raiders head coach Jon Gruden said recently, “we had an intercepting airline go in there to steal him away.” Well, sort of. Acquiring Rush, the 6-foot-5, 350-pound rookie out of Alabama-Birmingham, didn't require a midair heist. But it has added a layer of intrigue to the Raiders' defensive line this preseason. After the Eagles cut him to clear a roster spot for cornerback Orlando Scandrick, Rush went to Detroit for a workout.
