ABOUT ROBERTO PEREZ I recall the outrage from some members of the media and fans when the Tribe traded Yan Gomes to the Washington Nationals after the 2018 season. It was supposed to be a pure money dump. The catcher was to be paid $7 million in 2019. Gomes was coming off a good season, batting .266 (.762 OPS) with 16 HR and 48 RBI in 112 games for the Tribe.
