NBA commissioner Adam Silver “couldn't be more encouraged about where we are as a league,” yet still recognizes that “there is even more we can do to improve the competitive landscape in this league. Silver's comments came after the league held its annual Las Vegas board of governors meeting and alluded to the outcry over two-time defending champion Golden State adding perennial all-star centre DeMarcus Cousins via free agency. “I don't necessarily think it's per se bad that the Warriors are so dominant … we're not trying to create some sort of forced parity. Silver reminded reporters of the long history of dynasties in the NBA, from the Boston Celtics in the early days, to the Showtime and then Shaq and Kobe Los Angeles Lakers, bookended by Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls.
