While the Rangers' present was in the Garden losing a 5-2 game to the Blackhawks on Wednesday night, two big parts of the organization's future were on display in Buffalo. That was where both first-round picks from this year's draft, No. 7-overall Lias Andersson of Sweden and No. 21-overall Filip Chytil of the Czech Republic, were still alive in the final four of the World Junior Championship tournament.
