Vikings defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson was fined $20,054 by the NFL for a hit last Sunday, he said Friday. Richardson was penalized for roughing the passer after a hit on 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in the fourth quarter of Minnesota's 24-16 win in the opener. Richardson told the Pioneer Press he will appeal the fine. “I just got it (Friday)” he said. “Pretty much (I'll appeal). I'll see what I can get off of it.” After the game, Richardson disagreed with the call. “It wasn't dirty,” he said. “(I) took a step and hit him, perfect-form tackle. What else you want me to do?” Since seeing the play on tape, Richardson has stuck to his conviction, saying he disagrees with new NFL rules interpretations
