Contrary to rumors that have been swirling throughout the NHL this offseason, general manager Paul Fenton made it clear Friday that the Wild have every intention on re-signing star defenseman Jared Spurgeon, who can be come an unrestricted free agent after next season. “I have talked to his agent (Eustace King) and our plan is to re-sign Jared Spurgeon,” Fenton said. “There's not a plan to trade Jared Spurgeon, as has been kind of rumored. This guy is a great piece, a great leader, a great person, a great family guy.
